only it the tuning key fits too tightly and one hasn't learned to tune 
yet. 
4mm is parr for the course until quite late in the 18th.c. but even 
Stein and David Schiedmayer still use 4mm pins and that is which 
thicker wire and higher tension. Tangis have 4.2. Ruckers 3, 3.5 for 
the 4' 3.5 and 4 for the 8'. etc etc. Even Lorenz Schiedmayer still has 
4.2 (flat and NO holes) in the treble in 1815.
