I would add that the astonishing thing about the account of Indian training
in musical accuracy was the utterly unquestioning acceptance of the
validity of the method by a highly westernized consultant eye surgeon, so
calmly seated at my clavichord and tuning unhesitatingly each note, as she
recounted events of her Indian childhood.
By the way, what is implied in your posting by "more broadly" ?
