Ho - I've just unearthed Owen's tale of the Orygun Sympathy.
I'm guessing that our Stle "keyboardist" would prefer a single on
the grounds that it more resembles a piano.
A notable Portland harpsichordist once complained at length to me
that she had played continuo for that Orygun band's _Meffiah_, but
was not listed in the programme. She was told that "we simply can't
list supernumeraries," and asked me what she should have done. I
told her that next time they asked her, she should just send them
a contract which included the requirement that her name be listed
with the other soloists, above that of the conductor. Obviously,
these modern bands don't have any way of knowing what the "keyboard"
is doing unless and until somebody tells them.
Apparently she did so - which would be the reason somebody else is
on hand to bug Dr.Daly.
who may be tuning for the Seattle band o their wretched piano-like
object, as a sidebar to the organ hustle for Meffiah. And who was
just introduced by the radio to the concept of Eggs Maledict.
