This seems like a good opening to ask a question that has been niggling
around in my head for some time. How good is the pitch resolution of people
with "absolute" pitch? Is it possible for some people to tune without
listening to beats?
I experimented a little one day with my viola and the meter, and my
recollection is that I could return to the same pitch reliably and
repeatably to within the resolution of the meter, which is about a cent.
Not clear whether this would be good enough.
