The Cambridge Center Baroque Ensemble needs a harpsichordist with access
to an instrument for the Winter, 1995 term beginning January 11, 1995 --
and for future terms as well. The Baroque Ensemble is a class given
through the Cambridge (MA) Center for Adult Education. There is a
possibility that a student supplying both an instrument and a class
location would be able to make an arrangement with the Cambridge Center to
pay lower tuition.

The location for the class could be anywhere in the Boston area. It would
be preferable to have a location accessible by public transportation, but
that is probably not essential. What is probably essential is to have the
possibility of parking several cars near the location on class nights.

The class meets on Wednesday nights from 7:45 to 9:45 p.m. The format of
the class is ten rehearsals followed by an informal concert and a party.
It is not necessary that the harpsichordist be able to realize figured
basses, as I have plenty of music with the keyboard part supplied by
various editors. This is not a new ensemble, but rather one that lost its
keyboard players and possible locations, due to moves and career changes,
at the end of last year.

I would like to hear *right away* from anyone who would like to play
harpsichord in this group. I have heard from people playing other
instruments who are interested in playing them in the Baroque Ensemble,
but I am waiting to audition them until I am sure that the class will have
a keyboard player and a meeting place.
