Yes, it was a busy weekend for me :) ..........
Yesterday (Sunday, 1/24) I attended an organ recital
by James Russell Brown at Christ Church of Des Plaines,
Illinois. The program was as follows:
Prelude & Fugue in C Major (9/8)..............JSB
Sur 'La, Mi, Re'..............................Anony. English 16 cent.
Branle Champagne..............................Susanne Van Soldt
Recit (Livre d'Orgue).........................duMage
Rondeau.......................................Mouret
Chorale in E Major............................Franck
Scherzo.......................................Gigout
Antiphon [#3 out of the 15 pieces]...........Dupre
Pastorale.....................................Tournemire
Carillon de Westminster.......................Vierne
Some tidbits about the organ....Original organ by
Tellers of Park Ridge, Illinois (1964). Rebuilt by
Bradford Organ Company of Evanston, Illinois in 1991.
Reused 90% of the pipe work. Organ now contains 26
ranks. Rebuild cost was $140,000.
Had to leave right away - couldn't get more details like
a stop list, etc. Sorry...........
-George
