Hello - Mr. Burkett questions Phil Belt's association with the
Stonington axis and with the Zuckermann piano kit design.
I first met Belt at Stonington in '76, while he was in the midst
of wrangling with Way during the piano project. He was living just
down the road in Pawcatuck, where I poured a cup of coffee on his
wife's carpet, to the annoyance of all, and making personal
appearances as Ben Franklin, driving around in costume in a
Caddy hearse. Yes, he was involved in the design and early
production, and credited in the advertising, and was in and out
of the shop for some years after, usually in stormy weather.
