Some people have been using "Hammerklavier"in programs, etc., in preference
to "fortepiano," feeling perhaps that a hammer-keyboard is a more
appropriate description than a loud-soft. It's true that the Italians
invented the beast, but the Germano-Austrians (and the English) took off
with it.
 
However, what's in a name...?
