Some 30 years ago, there was a very nice harpsichord maker
in the DC area by the name of John Shortridge.  He seemed to
make mostly Italian-style continuo instruments, but of very
high quality.  At the time, he wasn't much older than me, so
might still be around.  Worth a search.
