I'm not convinced that even an accurate drawing gives us the right picture.
On the Harrass I can count 13 ribs between cutoff bar and bentside and I'm frankly dubious about their originality. There are 11 upper braces, some reaching to the floor, others spanning the top only: and a thing connecting the straight part of the bentside to the bellyrail like in forte pianos.
I don't buy any of it. Question is what, if any do you keep and what do you discard?
So many of the instruments now resident in germany seem to have fallen victim of someones penchant for putting double digit numbers of diagonal bars under the bridges and removing any trace of what went before.
Among fucked up treasures are the ioannes ruckers nd combined hpd/virginal, the andreas ruckers 1620 double, and the ioannes ruckers 1627 single.
