Hi harpsichord net--
I am forwarding this reply which was intended for the list, but came

In a word: nope! How often you need to tune depends on whether its for
home or concert use, the weather, and such. For hom use, I'd say once
and month is minimal, compared to once or twice a year for minimal piano
tuning.

My harpsichord teacher used to have a Challis harpsichord that a had
an aluminum or steel (?) frame around the soundboard, like a piano.
The sound was fine, and it stayed in tune for months at a time. I
don't know if he still makes them or not. Actually, he may have passed
away, if I remember correctly...
