I don't know about him, but in 1733, Schudi charged 17 Shillings and
Sixpence for tuning the Earl of Bristol's harpsichord. And only two years
later, his fee had increased to One Pound Four-and-Sixpence. I wonder if
this included a bit of maintenance work too? It would have been a fair
amount of money in those days.
