It is fascinating to hear Dan's recollections. My, what luminaries of the harpsichord world at the time were in attendance!

My good friend Richard Kingston and I traveled together last week to the U. of Michigan for the Annual Conference of the Historical Keyboard Society of North America, where we had the pleasure of meeting Sylvia. Richard was very excited to hear of her research, as he, too, had been in attendance at both of these "Harpsichord Festival Weeks." He was eager to share his reminiscences with her, and to lend his support to the search for more archival material.

Fran Cole was a rarity: a professor and concert harpsichordist of African American heritage. This lineage is shared by Sylvia. It was also refreshing to see that UM has a talented young black organ professor. Slowly, the world is becoming a better place. (Well, in some ways.)
