I'm going to think hard about this one, but here's two
Concert from St Petersburg, Olivier Baumont (FABULOUS) played on the 1770
Shudi Broadwood at Fenton House - the music is late, but the harpsichord
sounds amazing Erato label
Bach Partitas Paul Badura Skoda played on a Kirkmann harpsichord (Remember
there is a possibility that the Expensive "Large Veneered Harpsichord" that
was left in Bach's estate may have been a Kirkmann or Shudi!)
I will think of more for you later!

Hi List,
Anyone out there feel like doing an naive American a favor and listing some
of his or her favorite recordings of English harpsichord/virginal music?
maybe even some of the finest sounding English harpsichords on record? I'd
appreciate it.
Thanks,
Jim (who thinks the 1728 Hamburg Zell that van Asperen plays on his WTC set
may be the finest he's every heard, though a real contender is the Zell copy
made by Keith Hill and played by Parmentier on the Partitas set. Anybody
know of other recordings made on those two instruments?)
