Bill’s response to my post basically denies that the way Facebook format posts and replies discourages lenghty and detailed discussions. Not sure why he says it’s not to the point, however.
Well, I do know there aren’t technical limits to the length of the posts on fb, but I am sure everyone experienced discussions on fb are usually made of short sentences and short posts. The few who try and write down a more detailed post is often frustrated. “It is but doesn’t need to be so”, Bill says. Still, it is so - usually - and probably there is something in fb that discourages long posts.
This applies to the two groups Bill mentions as well. They are awesome groups and I enjoy every and each post there. Of course I followed the posts on jack making and keyboards and so on and carefully looked at the pictures and downloaded them for future reference. I got there the same helpful responses than here when something in the pictures were not clear to me. An invaluable help indeed, as I already said.
On the “search before asking” rant.
Bill is right, of course. Search before asking. Some people are giving their knowledge to the others out of generosity. So the others should avoid wasting their time and do the search before.
