This list has been altruistically provided and maintained, (truly)
without charge, to its users for about a quarter of a century and, as
Bill has rightly many times pointed out, has a fully searchable and
valuable archive. In recent weeks, it has been made clear beyond a
peradventure, that Facebook, on the other hand, is primarily a get
rich fast and stay rich scheme -- a platform for collecting and
analysing its members' personal data and serving them paid advertisements.
I cannot conceive of a more disparate pair of examples.
David Kelzenberg deserves a round of applause and more from all of us
here -- THANK YOU, David!
Mr Zuckerberg already claimed his reward, by having gouged billions
from his trusting data providers.
Kelzen beats Zucker any day in MY book!
I agree that Facebook has an ability to display photos, which
HPSCHD-L does not, but; as others have said, the ability to search
postings from even 10 years back is vestigial. We should seek to
establish a site where we can put photos in order to enhance the
scope of this list; but any suggestions that Facebook is easier to
use and benign, or of abandoning HPSCHD-L and its vast archival
treasure chest do not make any sense to me!
David
