I also have never bought into facebook. I have never felt comfortable with
it and, despite all the various siren songs over the years, every time I've
been tempted, I've resisted. (There are some facebook sites out there with
my name on them, but I have nothing at all to do with them, did not set
them up, and do not maintain them. In fact, I resent my forced presence on
facebook, against my will, against my choices, without my consent, and
against -- I think -- my own interests.)
I like this harpsichord list. Images would of course improve certain
things, for sure, but I suspect there would also be far too many gratuitous
photos that wouldn't actually help anything in a substantial way.
I value the word, the carefully written word. Yes, a good image is worth a
thousand. But a thousand words can be very explicit, if carefully chosen,
and more nuanced than a photo.
