Those interested in these "microtonal" compositions should also check out Ben
Johnston's works.  He IS located in Champaign/Urbana.  Ben does a great job
of composing microtonal works for other acoustic instruments in addition to
keyboard and electronics.  He manages to coax some pretty convincing
microtonal performances out of string players and singers.  He too writes
"listenable" music using these scales.  Check out his "Amazing Grace" as an
example of one of his "greatest hits."
