Dear David,

Nuernberg is DEFINITELY worth a trip. The Germanisches National Museum has one of the largest instrument collections in the world. Lots of harpsichords (Ruckers, Graebner (1782, playable conditition; one of the 4 survivors of 4 generations of the saxonian family of harpsichord makers) etc. etc.), clavichords, virginals. fortepianos.
And many other kinds of instruments.

Be aware that August is vacation time. Nuernberg will be packed with Chinese, Americans, peple from Japan and England. You will probably find Germans only incidently in town. We try to stay away from Nuernberg during summer...

Rainer
