Any irritation I might feel pales into insignificance compared with 
the resentment aroused by such time-wasting postings as this, which 
are a genuine injury because they clog up my inbox to no discernible 
purpose.

It is a *privilege* to participate in this list; it is not a *right*. 
Complying with the very trivial requirements imposed by the list 
owners is far from arduous. Can I ask Julian please to confine his 
remarks to the subject of the list.
