For some years now I have been aware that there is an acetal from BASF
called Ultraform. The material properties of this particular acetal seem to
be as much of a step ahead of Celcon as Celcon is from Delrin (better in
many engineering axes).
We have used Delrin happily for decades, and Celcon more recently, with
perfect success (those who prefer quill can stop reading now :-)). I am
curious to try out Ultraform, with the promise of even more extended
flexural durability. I am unable to find sources of Ultraform sheet thin
enough for plectra in Australia, or indeed the world.
Does anybody have any experience of this material, or know where one could
possibly obtain thin sheets from for experiment?
