Repeating Surveys
Send automated survey invitations on a recurring basis. This makes scheduling automated surveys easier and more powerful. This option will appear in the automated survey invitation setup window when the instrument is enabled as repeatable.
For example, you can now send daily surveys with ease using the new [new-instance] smart variable. This variable will generate the next instance's survey link automatically and dynamically. This can be used as stand-alone or alternatively can be used by being appended to only the following Smart Variables: [survey-link], [survey-url], [survey-access-code], [form-link], and [form-url].
REDCap Calendar Sync
You may sync your REDCap calendar or perform a one-time import of your calendar events to external calendar applications such as Google Calendar, Outlook, Office 365, Zoho, Apple Calendar, or any application that supports iCal or ICS files.
Live calendar feed: Add calendar from URL/Internet:
This will subscribe your external application to the REDCap project calendar. Notice: Different calendar applications have different refresh rates. So if new events are added to the calendar in REDCap, they may not immediately appear in the external application but will appear after the next refresh interval. Additionally, this calendar feed represents a one-way feed. This means that while changes made to the calendar in REDCap will automatically show up in the external calendar application, you will not be able to modify them in the external calendar application because they will be read-only.
One-time import: Download ICS file:
Download and open the calendar ICS file below to import your REDCap calendar events manually into your calendar application on your computer, or upload the file to a web-based calendar service. Notice: This is not a live feed but a one-time import. Thus, any new events added to your REDCap calendar in the future will not be automatically added to your external calendar application. Additionally, please note that if you download and import the ICS file more than one time, it may create duplicate events in your calendar application.
Embed Images In Emails
Using the rich text editor, you can now embed images directly into an email from REDCap. This is different than an email attachment in that the image appears directly in the email body itself.
Adjust Survey Width
Adjust the width of a survey by increments of 10%. This can be particularly helpful when dealing with matrices that have many choices.
Hide Survey Buttons
You are now able to hide survey buttons via survey settings. This is useful if you have a public page that doesn't collect data.
Custom Survey Button Text
Customize the text on survey buttons. This is compatible with the multi language management module.
Upcoming Features
MyCap
The MyCap external module will soon be merged into core REDCap as a native feature, increasing the usability and accessibility of MyCap.
File Repository
The project file repository is being revamped. The file repository will feel more familiar thanks to the upcoming modernizations. Create folders, manage user/DAG access by folder/file, upload multiple files at once, share files, make files public, recover deleted files, and more.
Reminders
Data Safety
For the highest data quality and safety, real data should only be collected in production status projects. Production status projects offer a review process when making changes to instruments and fields. Changes made in development status won't be protected by the change management process.
Changes made to instruments and fields in development mode could cause your data to be invalidated or deleted without your knowledge.
Project Information
Please ensure your REDCap project's information is up to date and complete. This helps provide metrics we use to improve the REDCap service. You can find your project information in project setup page > modify project title, purpose, etc button.
