The amphitheatre at the Chautauqua Institution (south of Buffalo) has
a large outdoor organ that was renovated a few years ago; the make escapes
me at the moment. Jared Jacobsen was/is the organist there. The instrument
is used mainly for Sunday services and in symphonic contexts; wish it were
showcased more as a solo instrument. Sometimes visitors are invited to play
it. good place to visit for those attending OHS convention, but admission
to the grounds is $$$.
