Dear Esteemed List,

This Friday evening, September 10th at 7:15 PM, I will be playing one
last recital before I move on to concentrate on church work and company
business. The recital is at Church of the Ascension, Linwood Avenue and
North Street in the City of Buffalo, New York.

The program - largely requests and/or things I've never played in
concert before - is as follows:

Fanfare Sir Francis Jackson

Canon in D major Johann Pachelbel,
transcribed for organ by S. Drummond Wolff

Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565 Johann Sebastian Bach

Largo, Antonin Dvorák,
from the Ninth Symphony (the "New World") trans. Davis

Wedding March, Felix Mendelssohn,
from "A Midsummer Night's Dream" trans. Davis

    INTERVAL
    (Ten minutes)

Fanfare Nicholas-Jacques Lemmens

Adagio for Strings Samuel Barber,
    trans. William Strickland

Choral in a minor César Franck

A strange little mixture to be sure, but it should be fun.

The program will be played on Veritas Op. 1 in the Gallery. This is a
Musicom-based instrument designed and finished by Graham Blyth and
myself. Originally, I had planned part of the recital on Kimball Op.
7129 in the chancel, but at least the relays require some attention
before she's back up to concert snuff. Soon, - hopefully soon! (Also,
the transcriptions require numerous registration changes, and the
Kimball's combination action is out of commission until the full
restoration takes place.)

Tickets are $10.00 General and $8.00 Seniors and Students. Proceeds
benefit Music Ministry at Church of the Ascension. A reception follows
in the Parish Hall.

Also, on Sunday 9/12 at 2 PM, we will have a Hymn Festival featuring a
variety of hymns from "The Hymnal 1982". A Freewill Offering will be
received which benefits Ascension's Organ Scholar Program.

More information is available at the church's web site,
www.ForMinistry.com/USNYECUSACOT2

If you're in the Buffalo area, I hope you can stop in and will stay to
introduce yourself at the reception following.

Cheers,
Peter Davis -
Director of Music and Organist, Church of the Ascension
Vice-President, Veritas Organ Company, Inc.
