A couple of quick reactions -- Dale, I haven't watched the whole ceremony,
but I don't think they had Mass (Eucharist)--just the separate wedding
ceremony from the Book of Common Prayer. Lots of Anglican weddings do have
the Eucharist--we did--but it's not essential.
The inward-facing pews of an Anglican chancel, or Choir (it's called Choir
in a cathedral or a major chapel like St. George's, Windsor) traditionally
have the two sides of the choir--SATB on each side for singing antiphonally
-- facing each other with the conductor in the centre aisle. Most of us
have seen printed directions in music, like Can./Dec. (for
Cantoris/Decani--the Precentor's side and the Dean's side, to identify the
two choirs)--which is a composer's way of orchestrating the dialogue and
interaction of the two choirs.
As for the small orchestra--I heard snatches of what sounded like a Handel
concerto grosso, well played. But they didn't seem to get any credit.
Probably a decent fee though!
David
