Greetings:
Several years ago I built a zimbelstern using a Garrard Class A turntable.
The best bells to use are upper octave handbell castings C6 - C8.
If you contact your area Schulmerich or Malmark representative you may be
able to purchase reject castings for a reasonable price.
I mounted several bells on the turntable, suspended several fish weights as
clappers. We mounted the zimbelstern in the choir to control the volume.
Works like a charm!
Best wishes,
Tom Gregory
p.s. I also used a handbell casting for the bell on my bicycle. Sure beats
Treck stock models!
