*This has always been an excellent series, despite the open windows, the
sirens of the ambulances, police and fire department going past, no air
conditioning here. It is a series that has gone on for quite a while and
people always show up for the concerts. Admission is free, donations are
accepted and those present are encouraged to become members of the
society. Unfortunately I missed the first three concerts in the series, a
series of Sr. moments are to blame. This Tuesday I did make it, the artist
was Emily Adams. She is a ballet pianist at the Boston Ballet School,
where she enjoys playing classes for all ages of students, from children to
young professionals. Emily has also played for the dancers at the San
Francisco Opera, SF Ballet School and Princeton Ballet School. In addition
to her playing, Emily is a mezzo-soprano, and has performed throughout New
England with groups such as Lowell House Opera, Opera 51, and the Nashua
Choral Society. She is also a student of Christian Lane at The Boston
Organ Studio.  Her programme was:*

*Toccata in F Major, BuxWV 157
      Dietrich **Buxtehude (1637-1707)*

*Komm, heiliger Geist, Herr Gott, BuxWV 199*

*Trio Sonata in E-flat Major, BWV 525
       Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750)*
*      I. [Allegretto]*
*     II. Adagio*
*    III. Allegro*

*Pastorale, Op. 19, No. 4
                  César Franck (1822-1890)*

*Fugue sur le thème du Carillon
            Maurice Duruflé (1902-1986)*
*de la Cathédrale de Soissons*

*Symphony No. 5 in f minor
              Charles-Marie Widor (1844-1937)*
*      Adagio*
*      Toccata*

*This is the first time I have heard Ms. Adams play and I was impressed
with her talent. She did an excellent job with the Buxtehude pieces. The
Bach was also excellent, a wonderful piece, played well. The Franck was
well played and registered, also a lovely piece. The Duruflé was well
done, nice to hear this piece again. The Widor was well done the Adagio
was lovely and the Toccata was well played. An excellent concert on a
muggy Boston evening. The next artist will be Sarah Johnson. Concerts
start at 8:00 P.M. and admission is free.*

*Cheers,*
*Mack*
