My experience has been that these mixtures were very carefully voiced
and added just a tinge of reediness to the chorus without being
offensive.  They are certainly beautiful IMHO.

The Harrison Skinner at Christ Church Cathedral--Houston TX has a
Terzian II or III on the Positive.    I believe it is pitched an octave
higher than a sesquialtera.    It adds a wonderful bell-like line,
especially when used with the Cymbale III.   It enjoyed it very much,
and don't recall it being overbearing at all.  It is primarily intended
as a chorus mixture, according to my ears.
