Having completed my first 8 months as Minister of Music at an
Episcopal church (my first such gig), I am finding it increasingly
tedious to select the hymns. For each service, I have to go through
the list of suggested hymns from the Episcopal Musician's Handbook,
look in the hymnal at the ones I don't know, play through the ones I
*really* don't know, eliminate the ones I can't stand, eliminate the
ones I've used recently, decide which ones would be suitable for
processional, recessional, communion, gradual, etc. (taking into
consideration style, lyrics, length, and number of verses), and
finally make a selection.
No doubt you other Episcopal musicians are laughing and saying
"welcome to the club".
But my point is not to whine, but to ask: is there any software out
there that would help make this task less tedious?
Thanks,
-- Ed
