Hi list...
At the risk of being flamed by the world, I'm disgusted with all of
this nit picking over Elton John ... It seems that any variant from the
past, even it it fits this remarkable and sad situation, is being
looked down on. Would these same people complain if Bach, as I recall a
popular composer of his time did the same. Perhaps, in Bach's day he did
something like this and the same type of complaints were registered ...
.
Was it really necessary to complain that a specific note was out of
tune. Accept Elton John's contribution for what it is, his memorial to a
friend. He simply expressed it with music and song rather than
speaking.
It is a good thing that Elton didn't use his 'Funeral for a Friend'.
