I'd add to this list:
BOELLMANN - Fantasie Dialoguee O+O*
ESCHAICH - Cto for O+O* (a fine new work)
FETIS - Fantasie Symphonique O+O* (supposedly one of the inspirations for
Jongen)
GENZMER - Concerto for Organ, Strings 3 tpt + Timpani* (a WONderful
neo-baroque cto)
LOVELOCK - Symphonie Concertante* (as good as the Jongen - pity it's not
better known)
RAPHAEL - Concerto for Organ, Strings tpts + Timpani* (A fine work - pity
the Motette release never made it to CD, and thank God for restoration
software for LPs)
SCHROEDER - Organ Cto (never heard it, but have yet to hear something of his
I didn't like)
SODERSTEN - 3 Concerti for Organ Strings + Timpani* (only heard 1 of these,
but it is a FINE piece)
I'm sure I'll think of more as soon as I hit *SEND*
In addition to my other organ music obsessions, I collect organ and
orchestra pieces... (I also collect
string quartets and harp concerti, but I digress...)
I have recordings for most of these, and enjoy them regularly. I've come
across mention of HUNDREDS
of organ concerti as well as countless symphonic pieces where it plays a
vital role.
