Tim Tikker asked me for some comment on how Guy liked the organ. I
won't presume to express his opinions, which he does very well
himself. I did hear him say that he liked the action, and the playing
bore that out. The Cromorne got used a lot, and it kept up the
pace accurately and cleanly, which was nice to hear after tuning
the one in my own parish.
The room is not wonderful, a little too long and narrow, with a
carpeted aisle and new carpeting all around the new font at the
rear, and of course the place was packed for the opening concert.
When the room is empty, I've liked the way the principals spread
out rather than boring their way down the center aisle, and the
general feeling of fit of the ortan to the room. It's not very
loud, even the "French" reeds.
