We had the pleasure of a visit from Peter Black, organist of St 
George's Parktown, who came and sang in the choir. He is a spendid 
bass and I rather wish I could have his services a lot more often! 
It's always nice to experience generous co-operation - rather than 
bitchy rivalry - from one's fellow musicians.

Off to the UK tonight where, nothing untoward occurring, I shall be 
in the loft at the Abbey for next Sunday's evensong (Howells: 
Gloucester Service; Walton: The Twelve) , before drifting down to 
Chichester for the Southern Choirs Festival.
