I have a much simpler procedure.
1. Buy a standalone audio CD-R machine. Mine is a Phillips, but a number of
other stereo equipment vendors sell them.
2. Wire it into a "tape monitor" loop on your stereo system. If you have
more than one tape monitor loop, use "Tape 2," as it will allow you to dub
cassettes to CD-R.
3. Buy a whole mess of "license-tax-stamped" CD-Rs. They'll normally be
labeled something like "Music CD-R" or "CD-R for home recorders"; Fuji now
has a bunch labeled something to the effect of "all purpose" (reflecting the
fact that license tax stamped media CAN be used in a computer, if you don't
mind paying a few cents more per CD).
4. Set the machine's input select to "analog audio," and dub in real time.
The LP and cassette background noise levels are too high for the
auto-track-advance function on my machine (and probably on most others), so
you'll have to sit there the whole time, hitting the "track advance" button
at every track break, if you want individually-addressable tracks.
As Emeril would say, "It ain't rocket science!"

I have an audio CD-R machine, but none of my computers have CD-R drives!
