Excuse me if this is just annoying: But why transfer from LPs to CDs --
from one obsolete medium to another soon-to-be obsolete medium? Why not
just store as MP3s or via one of the other technologies now available?
I've been out of the big-time classical record business for a couple of
years now, but for several years before that I kept sitting in meetings
high above Madison Avenue where the CD was given very few years of
continued survival. So why not just keep your music in some digital form
that you yourself can manipulate easily?
