Last May I was in Holland and visited Zwolle and Noordbroek.
Both organ have their pipework arranged in thirds, thusly all third
are next to each other in very small cases. Zwolle is 90 ranks and
the case is about 1 meter deep and the pipework is not crowded at all.

Zwolle is in ET and Noordbroek is in Werk III.

On both organs one can use any and all tierce ranks whatsoever in the
plenum. There was no zzzzzzzzzzzzzz's or hash noise or conflict
between harmonic and tempered thirds as far as I could tell. I feel
that this is in part due to the chest arrangement which can allow the
two tierces classes to be drawn more into tune than in an otherwise
normal arrangement.

There have been other organs that have the pipes in quint arrangement
to help in 1/4 comma to pull the 5th closer in tune.

There are also some organs arranged in tritones so that there is NO
drawing at all with any intervals.

I wish that I had more time to investigate this but perhaps in the
future this may happen.

Any comments?
