Like some (not all) pipe organs, THIS model has the necessary appurtenances
to allow a real musician to make music. If the author of the snide and
ignorant remark above is not musician enough to make music on THIS model,
then the reflection is on the poster (who has, after all, not even seen the
instrument which he arrogantly presumes to snip at) not on the organ.
I am becoming more than a little weary of the smug intolerance which
characterizes many postings here, and which reduces the value of PIPORG-L
for the ADULTS who are subscribed.
Like most of you I have heard pipe organs which I found effective and
musical, as well as others which simply left me unmoved. While granting that
the ratio among electronic instruments is not as good, I have still found
some (and more all the time) which I felt were well worth hearing. What I
have NOT found is any necessity to comment in shallow ways upon things which
I found unappealing, nor the incredible gall to criticize an instrument
which I have never even heard.
Dan Miller is an incredible musician whom I would drive many miles to hear,
even if he were playing on a Lowrey Genie. The Rodgers 960 is an instrument
with considerable musicality when well installed in a sympathetic acoustic.
I can recommend the combination to you as well worth trying out.
I'll save "brown-n-serve" for people who think they're being witty when
they're really only showing their ignorance.
