....which reminded me of a posting I sent at the time The Thing was installed

Interesting piece in today's Wall Street Gazette-Picayune business pages:
"Following a rival company's pathbreaking use of samples of blower start-up
and swell shade noise, the Sheriff & Googlebush electronics firm has
introduced its Authenticity IV series of church organs, replacing last
year's Authenticity III model. In an effort to
provide churchgoers with an even more realistic experience, the Authenticity
IV will include all the features of its predecessor, plus the following new
samples:
--- Two deaf old ladies loudly discussing digestive problems during prelude.
--- Police sirens going by outside during Mozart Ave Verum Corpus
--- Baby crying during sermon
--- Radiators clanking during pastoral prayer (program activates in summer
months only).
The clerical division of S&G, in an effort to expand its market share in
liberal Protestant churches, has announced a female version of its Digital
Celebrant VI, a holographic projection which, like its male counterpart,
always makes cogent
theological points and never needs health care benefits or mileage
allowances.
A spokesman for S&G also confirmed the company's purchase of the
once-prosperous
Church of the Unwarranted Assumption (Episcopal) on the city's west side.
The building will be razed and the site used for the first of S&G's proposed
series of ChurchWorld theme parks."
Sorry, I don't have the URL for this article.

By the way, they've cleaned up the rest of lower Manhattan, how come they couldn't clean up the Aeolian-Skinner? Inquiring minds etc........
Cheers, Harold
