If you listers haven't noticed from the times of my postings, I am a
terrible insomniac. Actually, I just function better at night! Anyhow,
on to the purpose of this posting.

First, I would like to offer to each person on the list, an apology. In
retrospect, I feel like I had no business contributing to the "fracas"
over the church music and complaints thereof. If I have in any way
offended anyone on the list then I am truly sorry and will try to be a
bit wiser in throwing my hat into the ring on these types of issues.

Second, while I don't mean to stir the "toaster" issue back up, I would
like to gather some opinions about electronics. It didn't take too long
after the beginning of my formal organ study, before I realized my HIGH
opinion of the Allens I had played to that point, were somewhat wrong. I
even now find it difficult to practice at local churches with Allens
after lessons and as much practice time as I can book on the Casavant
where my lessons are. I guess to some degree it's like sometimes having
to drive the second car, because the Caddy is being used... :-) Yet,
don't these instruments really fill a much needed role. I know of many
places where pipe organs are dreams whose becoming reality is impossible.
My church for instance, couldn't afford a pipe organ even if they wanted
one, which I'll guarantee they don't. In other places, a pipe organ is
just not possible due to building/architectural limitations. In these
cases and as home practice instruments, maybe even institutional practice
instruments, don't they to some degree redeem themselves?
