On 18th and early 19th century Dutch organs, the Carillion stop often is
composed as 4 + 1 3/5 or 2 + 4/5. We suppose it was used especially in
improvisations, played staccato, to get a chime effect.
Recently I used the Carillion in a concert at the Meere-organ in Epe where I
played the Homilius chorale "Erschienen ist der herrliche Tag": the very
fast broken chords in the right hand worked very well with this Carillion.
