I stand corrected..the organ is indeed a WICKS. (Sorry...that was my mistake for the year)
I have received some good advice about this, and will certainly be trying them out. Probably the fact that the organ is underused contributed nearly 90% to the problem. Ken told me (and I agree), that most LDS organists are timid and afraid of the stops. I usually get criticized for my use of 32' stops and reeds, causing quite the rumble to emanate through the podium.
I did notice while trying to get my more-than-ample midriff through the ranks that the wind chests are extremely difficult to get at. I would surmise that it is difficult to try and get an aircan in there to blow some of the dust out.
There is some really nice pipe work in the building...it is a shame that most of them are hidden behind a screen.
