These pieces are thoroughly respectable music, enjoyable to
play and hear, and provide great opportunities for showing off
individual voices and combinations of stops.
A few years ago, Kristin Farmer played several of them at the
rededication of the recently-restored Pilcher (#603, 1902, 2-18) at
First Presbyterian, Red Springs, NC.
The organ's resources were a near-perfect match for the organ
Elgar had in mind when he wrote the music, and the results were
superb.
