The AEolian-Skinner brochure that I have has photographs of stop knobs
from St. John's Church, Forest Park IL on the front and back covers; the
company officers are:  Joseph Whiteford, Chmn of the Board & Tonal Dir;
John Tyrrell, President; Arthur Birchall, VP; Albert Ledwak, VP; William
Bunch, VP.   Sales manager: Thomas Potter.  Reps:  Paul Haggard - OK;
Peter Nielsen - MO; Roy Perry - TX; Lawrence Schoenstein - CA; Douglas
Waughope - NC; Jack Williams - LA. (just thought that was
interesting....)

Anyway, on to the quote:
....Inherent in thefaithful translation of themasters' works from notes
o the page to meaningful sound is the transparent, flue-character
ensemble. This si ideal for polyphony and voal or instrumental
accompaniment. In turn, sympathetic acoustics and placement are implied
as the historic and artistic associates of thie type of tone. [italics]
They are pre-requisites to a successful installation.
    In considering the design and execution of an instrument, basic
factors must be seriously considered. First, the placement of the
instrument: It must be [within the walls - italics] of the building in
which it is heard to be totally successful. Second, carpets, rubs,
heavy organ cases and aritifical acoustical absorbent materials must not
be tolerated if the spirit of the great literature is to emerge. With
these basic factors light wind pressures are possible and only with
light pressures can the full color and cohesiveness of both flue and
reed pipes be developed and transmitted to the listener....
end of quote.
