The Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago's 2007-2008 Chapel Music Series kicks off this Sunday at 4:00 pm with a Hymn Festival celebrating the 400th birthday anniversary of the great Lutheran hymn writer Paul Gerhardt.

I am the organist for the event and professor of worship and music Mark Bangert will provide the commentary.

The organ is the splendid 2004 Ruth and Paul Manz organ built by the M.L. Bigelow company.

Also on Tuesday the 2nd of October, Danish organist Sven-Ingvart Mikkelsen will kick off the the new Manz Organ Series at LSTC.  List member Tom Wikman is the artistic director of the series.  All of these organ recitals will be on the first Tuesday of each month from 12:20-12:50 pm.  

LSTC is a seminary of the ELCA and is located in the Hyde Park Neighborhood of Chicago.
