HI Everyone:
Perhaps we need to rethink organ courses
for High School. Presently the organ
comes under Arts, subset Music.
Consider placing the organ as part of the
sports department. To convince everyone
of this, a standard video could be made
of an organist dancing the pedals, pulling
stops, tapping toe studs, and perspiring
(which many do in hot stifling lofts
during summer months).
When people are convinced this is a
workout, we might find several instruments
instead of one or none in schools.
Am I off the beaten track on this one?
Possibly, but consider the marching
band, which never seems to lack for
members. They tote, blow, pound, and
march in hot summer weather and they
seem to love it. (Heaven knows why?)
The organ seems too sedentary.
Heck we might even get a few into
public gyms instead of those nasty
stationary bicycles.
Also lets bring back mechanical pumping.
Especially if it involves pumping with
the feet. That replaces those step climbing
boxes. Of course the long arm that must
be pushed to the floor (as in that recent
U-Tube Video) would convince people that
this is a new 'ab' machine.
Folks I really think we are missing the
boat on this one. Lets get our heads
together on this one. .....
Fat Chance of that happening!
Brian
