Does anyone know the details about the organ in the Academy of Music in München. I recently got a CD of Peter Michael Hamel playing his piece "Organum" on this organ, and cannot find details about the organ. One poster on this list suggested in a private email that it could be a 1999 Kuehn organ located in the Hall of the Hochschule, which it could not be since the recording was made August 5, 1985. Which may mean the Hall of the Hochschule is different fromt eh Academy of Music, München, eventhough websites seem to use the term interchangeably. I found out from another website that it might be a Shuke, but that is not for certain. The CD cover (Kuckuck11074-2) has no information about the organ and only gives the title and the performer/composer, Peter Michael Hamel, the recording equipment but no the microphones. Peter Michael Hamel's website, mostly in German but with sections in French and English, has little if any information about this recording. There are
four parts or cuts to the CD, but no subtitles are given for each section. Most of the notes are given to a rewrite of the New Grove's Dictionary of Music and Musicians article on "Organum." The DC makeers information is Kuckuck Schallplatten, E. R. P. Musikverlag, Habsburgerplatz 2, 800 München 40, (089) 332078. The American and Canadian distribution is through Celestial Harmonies, P.O. Box 30122, Tucson, Arizona 85751.

I have had private correspondence with several subscribers from this list and Pipechat, who are interested in knowing also, so if you can supply details about this organ, there is interest in seeing it.

  Thank you,
