Am I the only guy still appreciating the Concordia Pub. House edition of Orgelbüchlein ?

While I continue to play almost entirely from the Griepenkerl’s edition of the Bach organ works, published by C. F. Peters a long time ago, it is valuable to keep abreast of modern scholarship which seems to claim correctly that some of what was passed along as by Bach is actually by other composers, perhaps most especially Johann Ludwig Krebs, Bach’s supposedly finest student. That doesn’t necessarily make them “inferior” works; it simply gives credit where credit it due. I continue to adore the “other” “Wir glauben all’ an einem Gott, Vater” setting by Krebs with double pedals.

LOTS of years ago I played the Clavierübung, iii , from the old Widor-Schweitzer edition, which was convenient for the chorale preludes, even though the prelude and then the fugue were not in the same volume. If I were young and rich, what edition should I be purchasing now to fit that preference?

Since you haven't asked about the Barenreiter (NBA) edition, I will assume you are not interested in it, even though it (in spite of some problems) is considered the standard.

Of the editions you mention, I still give pride of place to the old Peters Edition (Griepenkerl/Roitzsch/Keller) which has many advantages and was long the standard before the NBA was completed. The biggest issue with Peters is that the chorales were not published in the original order, but alphabetically, although I think it's possible to buy the Orgelbeuchlein and Clav. III separately in the correct order. But if you do acquire the whole Peters Ed. as published in 9 volumes, you will get all of the chorale preludes, just arranged alphabetically by title.
