We have just completed work on a little organ we built in 1980. Some
of the stops were prepared, and with this work the organ is complete.

This began life as a 4 rank Wicks from the 1950s, with a 16' Gedeckt,
8' Diapason, 8' Salicional (GG), and 8' Dulciana (TC). We kept 2 1/2 of the
ranks (Gedeckt and Salicional, plus 8' Diapason bass), and used the
console over but with new SSL switching.

The organ is in matching stained heart pine cases at each side of the
choirloft. The Great 8' Principal is exposed in the North case
from 4' C, with Swell behind; the Great 4' Octave is exposed in the
mirror-image South case, which houses the Great.

The Spielflote has recycled wood gedeckt bass.
The Salicional is typical 1950s Wicks, rescaled and revoiced.
The Spielflote has an extreme taper, with very narrow mouths. In my French
style organs I call it Flute a pointe.
The Basson-Hautbois has inverted-conical resonators with lids for 1-24
(1-12 are half length), and then double-conical resonators with coned tops
up to G56; the trebles are flues.

Wind pressure is 70mm throughout, except 1-12 of Subbass on 85mm.

BTW, we just signed for what will be our Opus 27, a rebuild of a Moller
organ with additions, for the Chapel of Bethany United Methodist Church
in Summerville SC, (just a block from the Presbyterian Church), to be
completed in early 1996.

For those who are interested, the main Sanctuary of the Methodist Church
has an 11 year old Moller in which the 16' Principal pipes are collapsing
under their own weight, and the leathers are already beginning to fail.
We hope this will be rebuilt shortly after the Chapel organ is done.
