Frank, I think the main reason we see inconsistencies in terminology
usage, especially on the web, is that people are typing almost as fast
as they are thinking and typos result. I have proofread some messages
and they still come out with mistakes that I did not make. Go figure!
Grammar is no longer taught to a significant extent and as people get
used to reading incorrect language usages, they become confused and
begin using them as well. My pet peeves are words such as tonite,
thru, and the many other abbreviated new coinages. Brace yourself, I'm
afeared there's more to follow....
