Subject: Chest arrangements [was Zwolle & Noordbroek]

  A couple of technical questions:

Does the tuning effect of a particular arrangement of pipes on the
chest, such as M3rds, apply only to mechanical action and slider
chests, or does it also carry over to electro-pneumo, etc.? Or does
it apply to slider chests, no matter the valve action?

On mechanical actions, do non-chromatic chests require any more
work/design effort with regards to roller boards and such?

I have often wondered why M3rd chests weren't more widely used,
simply because of the better tuning stability.
